The attached Certificate of Election was issued by the Tasmanian Electoral Commission on Friday 30 October 2009.
Any person is entitled to vote at the election if the person is enrolled on the electoral roll for the House of Assembly in respect of an address within the boundaries of the Hobart City Council.
Additionally, persons other than those referred to above may vote if the person:
A person who is resident in one municipal area and is also an owner or occupier of land in one or more other municipal areas, is entitled to vote in an election in respect to those municipal areas.
A corporate body which owns or occupies any land in the Hobart City Council municipal area is entitled to nominate one person to vote on its behalf at the Hobart City Council election. No person can have any more than two votes in the Hobart City Council election of which only one vote is in his or her own right and only one vote is on behalf of a corporate body.
Persons are enrolled automatically if they are enrolled on the House of Assembly roll for an address within the Hobart City Council municipal area.
You should check the House of Assembly roll to ensure that you are entitled to vote. If you are not on the roll but are entitled to vote in accordance with the provisions outlined above, you may complete and enrolment form.
To check your enrolment on the Electoral Roll please visit the Australian Electoral Commission website at www.aec.gov.au and click on the "Check your enrolment details online" button.
Enrolment forms are available from the Customer Service Centre, located at 16 Elizabeth Street, Hobart or telephone 6238 2788. You can call in and collect a form or you may prefer to phone and have a form mailed to you.
Forms are also available from the Tasmanian Electoral Office, Level 2, Telstra Centre, 70 Collins Street, Hobart.

A corporate body wishing to exercise a vote must lodge an application signed by the person nominated to vote on its behalf. Again, forms are available from the Customer Service Centre or from the Tasmanian Electoral Office.
Corporations that have previously lodged authorities should check whether any alteration to take account of current personnel is required.

Any additions or alterations to the Electoral Roll must also be made by completing an ENROLMENT FORM. You must lodge your form with the Customer Service Centre, 16 Elizabeth Street before 6.00pm on Thursday 17 September 2009.
