Symbols are now being used on parking signs. Larger letters and numbers indicated the times, days and parking arrangement that apply. Unnecessary words have been removed.

This sign indicates No Stopping - you are not permitted to stop, unless traffic conditions require it (for example the queuing of traffic) |

No Parking means you may stop briefly to pick up or drop off people or goods. |

Loading Zones are for the use of commercial vehicles only, while loading or unloading (30 minute limit, other conditions apply) |

A yellow line at the edge of the pavement or adjacent to the gutter indicates that you are not permitted to stop your vehicle. This is the same for No Standing signs or black and white line markings. (previously black & white lines) |

This sign indicates areas that are reserved for vehicles that display a current disabled permit. It also indicates that the limit is 2 hours and this is applied between the hours of 9am to 5pm. |

In some circumstances in order to reduce the number of signs required in streets and off street parking areas, area signs will be used. A sign is placed at each entry point showing the restrictions. The restriction applies in all streets or parking bays, until you reach an End sign as you leave the area. |

This sign indicates 2 hour parking between the hours of 7am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday. |

This sign shows a 5 minute parking limit. |

Special methods of parking can be shown. This sign indicates a 30 minute park requiring you to pay the meter between the hours of 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday. |
