Stones Of Thassos - Lindsay BroughtonThursday 6 October - November 6 2005The inspiration for this exhibition are the ancient ruins, dating back as far as the 9th century BC, found on the Greek island of Thassos. Tasmanian artist Lindsay Broughton, has long been fascinated by the island and its massive marble objects. The seven large-scale drawings that form the major component of the exhibition derive from formal studies executed in 2003 whilst on a study tour of the island. |
