Rate in the $ - 8.6 cents.
A general rate of 6.5 cents in the dollar of the AAV is levied on all rateable land within the municipal area. The general rate is levied in order to cover the cost of all non-property specific services such as roads, parks, planning, tourism, recreation and administration.
The fire levy service rate of 1 cent in the dollar of the AAV is levied on all rateable land within the municipal area. The levy is collected on behalf of the State Fire Commission (this is not a Council owned or operated service)
A fire rebate of 0.70 cents in the dollar is applicable for rural properties and properties in the Fern Tree area. The minimum fire levy is $33.00.
A waste management service rate of 0.7 cents in the dollar of the AAV is levied on all rateable land within the municipal area in order to fund the collection of waste and recycling from properties and to operate Council's refuse site.
A stormwater service rate of 0.4 cents in the dollar of the AAV is levied on all rateable land within the municipal area.
All local government rates are exempt from GST.
Penalty of 3% flat will be charged on unpaid instalments in accordance with Section 128(1)(c) of the Local Government Act 1993, and thereafter interest at the rate of 10.4% per annum.
